- 2 x pot bearings rear
- 2 x special washer
- 2 x special screw
If the rear axle is to be drained from the lines for repair purposes or if the rear axle body or the rear axle mount is to be machined, we recommend replacing the rear and front rear axle bearings.
Over many years and hundreds of thousands of kilometres of driving performance, the rear axle bearing is subject to stealthy wear, which continuously worsens the driving behaviour. Most W124 drivers don't notice this, because the process is very slow and the driver gets used to the worse suspension over the many years of use.
After renewing the bearings, most 124 driver are completely amazed by the crisp chassis and the greatly improved handling.
Tip: the screws and washers of the pot bearings are completely corroded after > 25 years and usually cannot be reused after dismantling. The use of old mounting parts therefore makes no sense.
