The suspension springs usually rust over a large area and tend to break at the lower coil due to the notch effect of the rust. The use of used parts therefore makes little sense.
We recommend pair replacement with new parts of solid quality, as

- the spring characteristics of the 20-30 year old springs have changed due to the permanent load with the vehicle weight.
If a new spring is only installed on one side, the vehicle height may be skewed on the left or right side.
If you want to change the vehicle level in the direction of lower or higher, you do not take "weaker" springs, but you adjust the vehicle level with different spring pads. For the W124, spring pads with a thickness of 8 (1 nub) - 23 mmm (4 nubs) are available at the front, e.g. w124-fu-v-1.
If you want to increase the vehicle level significantly or if it is a particularly heavy vehicle with numerous optional extras and thus an increased vehicle weight, you can install the next stronger spring. Thus, in a heavy vehicle with a 4-cylinder engine, a standard spring of a 5-cylinder vehicle (w124-fwf-5z-v) can be installed.
