This reduced connector is often used at T-pieces, that have 3/4 inch female threads as a standard, for assemble the wide variety of 1/5 inch fittings.
For screwed fastenings both for water and for fuel we recommend the thread seal (p-85175) or the thread sealing agent (p-97216).
