Description
The gear change rods are mounted twice: once on the gearbox itself and once again on the gearshift lever mechanism. The spring clamps fix the shift rod both on the gearbox and the shift lever side, i.e. 6 clamps are required for the complete replacement of a manual gearbox, only 2 clamps are required for an automatic gearbox.
Tip: the spring clamp should not be economised, because after age-related fatigue the shift rod will fall out of its socket and the vehicle can no longer shift gears.
