O-ring for water connection at cylinder head 124-Diesel
The water connection of the cylinder head of the W124 diesels is designed as a plug connection in the rear driving direction. A corresponding aluminium adapter is screwed into the cylinder head, in which a sheet metal pipe is inserted for water distribution. This pipe is sealed by a special O-ring.
In case of leakage or work on the cylinder head, this O-ring should always be replaced, as it is subject to high thermal stress.
