This ripped belt fits only to 200D/E200D, without air conditioning, with small pulley belt for the water pump.
The ribbed belt in the 124 Diesel is robust, but is subject to wear due to age and mileage.
To ensure operational safety, we recommend that a new ribbed belt is always kept on hand.
When working on the belt tensioner, the water pump or the generator, the ribbed belt should be checked for brittleness, cracks and other damage.
Since the belt has to be removed anyway during this work, it is a good idea to change it.
